Where does inspiration come from?

Where does inspiration come from?

As I walked through my garden this morning like I do most days, I had a slow-motion moment. It felt like everything was happening in such a slow speed while my brain at full speed was processing everything around me. The birds happily chirping in all directions, the soothing feeling of the wind blowing through my hair, the soft bark from Laila in the background; while my eyes were so focused on the plants, their shapes, and colors. Everything looked and felt so rich. I guess my subconscious was just responding to a question I receive quite often from friends and customers.

“Inspiration. Where do you get it from?”

Two Tone BromeliadIt’s easy to spend all day searching for inspiration, let’s be frank. It is everywhere! You can find incredible videos, articles, and news stories, and email them out to all of your friends. But the best (and longest lasting) type of inspiration comes from applying those outside bits of motivation to your own goals. That’s where my inspiration comes from.

Our busy lives can get hectic, but we should always find a way to spare time for personal growth. Stimulating your brain with new information/ideas will expand your overall awareness. I find that taking a moment to look around and appreciate what I have is by far, the most fulfilling and where most my inspiration comes from. It could be a plant and the colors of its leaves. It could be a piece of jewelry I saw at a local store; there’s so much inspiration out there, just take a moment and soak up what’s around you.

Did you know that your brain generates enough energy to turn a light bulb on? Yes, the human brain is truly an amazing organ. And even if you don’t think you’re very intelligent at all, science proves you wrong. On average, your brain generates about 10 to 23 watts of power, which may not seem like much, but it’s enough to power a light bulb. Upon awakening, it can produce up to 30 to 35 watts. FACT! No wonder why I am up early and my mind is already in full speed by the time I have my first cup of coffee.

There’s also something I hear quite often. People say that life is short, but you still get a whopping 2.21 billion heartbeats to use up over your lifetime. As we get older, life can almost seem as if it’s just slipping by. But consider the fact that over the span of your lifetime, which is about 70 to 80 years for the average American, your heart will beat approximately 2.21 billion times. If that seems like a lot, you’re right — it is. AND, that in itself is my biggest inspiration. Life in itself. I take all that inspires me and I put it into a new product, a new way to photograph our goodies, and even a new color mix for our tassels.

Inspiration is such a broad subject and I could go on and on all day. But, somehow my brain simplifies it down to God’s creations and their beauty. The odds of you being born as exactly as you are is basically zero. At some point or another during our lives, most of us get sick of ourselves and wish we could become another person. You might change your mind about that when you realize the fact that you ended up being who you are, is quite literally a miracle. If that doesn’t inspire you, I am not sure what else will. Just saying!

Consciousness is still a mystery, but without it, you wouldn’t get to experience anything. That last point should’ve left you feeling pretty astounded, but to take it a step further, consider how much we take for granted. Take color as a simple example. You can see it and experience its beauty when you place your awareness on it, but the distractions of modern day life rob us of fully sensing how blue the sky is, or how green the trees are.

Practicing mindfulness can help ground you and bring you back to experiencing everything from color and nature, to music and love. Take it as an opportunity to be present and embrace those things while you’re still here.

Enjoy your heartbeats, every lit bit that makes your brain think further, to all dreams and desires… Let life inspire you.

Oh, talking about birth probabilities. Here’s a great article by https://www.huffpost.com to get your brain swirling a little more.
