Strombus vittatus or Doxander vittatus is the common name for the vitae snails, they're true snails. They are beautiful shells with white and caramel on the outer sides and an elongated body. They are distributed in the Indo-Pacific off Fiji to the South China Sea. They range from 2 inches long 1/2 to 1/3 inches in the widest part, which is the top part of the shell.
